Aiming to open in December, PonyBoys will convey fashionable Mexican fare to Chagrin Falls. The powerhouse staff behind the brand new restaurant consists of Ryan Scanlon, former Director of Culinary for Chef Artwork Pour Restaurant Group, which incorporates Burntwood Tavern, M Italian and Leo’s Italian Social, and Christian Kalinyak, the previous Director of Design for a similar restaurant group.
“It’s a giant step for Ryan and I,” says Kalinyak.
The staff took possession of the Violante’s Restaurant house at 506 E. Washington St. about two months in the past. Curiously, the property sits instantly adjoining to Burntwood Tavern, the place Scanlon served as opening chef. He continued to work for the corporate because it expanded all through the state and past.
“We favored it as a result of it was a small spot, restricted variety of seats, fairly controllable and in an awesome group,” notes Scanlon, who lives in the world.
When accomplished, PonyBoys will seat 60, together with a 15-seat bar. When the patio comes on-line in spring, it’ll add one other 20 to 25 seats.
The invoice of fare is described as “elevated Mexican road meals.”
“That complete vibe of contemporary Mexican is a very underserved market, I really feel, in this complete Chagrin Valley space,” says Kalinyak. “You’ve received a pair cool locations down in Cleveland and Ohio Metropolis, however there’s nothing in the suburbs that enhances that. And who doesn’t love an awesome taco, proper?”
Kalinyak, a furnishings maker by commerce, is fabricating all the pieces – the lighting, tables, bartop – in his Chagrin Falls workshop.
“So far as the décor goes, all the pieces is handmade on my own in my store,” he says. “So it’s actually handmade, from the kitchen out to the entrance of the home.”
